Jesus Christ is coming back.
Until then, life will always have problems. What sets us apart is how we handle our
problems.
Jesus said:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and
all these things shall be added unto you. [Matt 6:33]
Seek, that means that we need to make a diligent effort to
attain. You do not have to seek for salvation. Jesus Christ already accomplished that. No, these verses are talking about the QUALITY
of the life we have, which is still ours
to work out. The command is that we seek
God’s kingdom, that is seek to live according to His dominion and His word. The corresponding promise is that all of
life’s necessities will be added unto us.
Truth is the pure word of God. The bible is the revealed word and will of
God. We can have truth to the extent that we understand and believe the word of
God. Several things can block us from
the truth on a particular subject. First,
we may not know what God has to say on a subject. Secondly we may not understand what we read
and thirdly, we may not live according to the truth we know. It is the understanding where I want to
focus.
Rather than seeking the truth, we often spend our time and
effort in defending our intellectual turf, that is, what we already believe. We maintain our pride, but miss the
blessings of our father. We need to drop
our pride and be humble enough to ask, seek and knock.
Ask, and it shall be given you;
seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh
receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be
opened.
Or what man is there of you, whom
if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a
fish, will he give him a serpent?
If ye then, being evil, know how to
give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in
heaven give good things to them that ask him? [Matt 7:7-11]
These verses are the truth regarding Truth. Do not suppose that you know it all already. Our loving father has given the way to get
things from him. He will not deny us his
many blessings, and that includes truth when we turn to him as a son
asks for food. Look into his word and
then ask/seek/knock to unlock understanding.
The truth is there, but it is hidden by our preconceived
notions. Modern culture does much to
obscure the word. But the father did not
leave us alone. He will help you with
understanding. Strive to learn how the word
of God can interpret itself.
Study to shew thyself approved unto
God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. [2 Tim 2:15]
To study means to strive for knowledge. Don’t just read casually, put some effort in
your search. It may take time, but God promises that you will find what you
seek.
God bless you and your quest,
-Tim
